YS Government works against the poor – Pawan Kalyan

In the Nampally area beside gandhi bhavan in Hyderabad, Yuva Rajyam State President Power star Pawan Kalyan was arrested on the charge for creating a blockade.

The state government of Andhra Pradesh in a measure to eradicate the rising slum areas in Bheemrao Vada, near Gandhi bhavan, organized a team to dislodge the dwellers. In order to bring the decision to vogue, the slums were disbursed forcibly by the government officials early hours of the saturday.

Protesting against the dislodgement, power star Pawan Kalyan accompanied by a group of yuva Prajarajyam members from PRP reached the spot to support the victims of Bheemrao Vada.

Power Star Pawan Kalyan stated that this “Government says they are for the poor but actually works against the poor.” We will not rest until we replace it with effective governance. He then consoled the local people and extended his support to them.

Pawan Kalyan was arrested by the Nampally police for making a blockade during their dislodgement.

Chiru’s snub shatters BJP’s Andhra dreams

The BJP’s hopes of seeking a bigger toehold in southern state of Andhra Pradesh received a big jolt here on Monday when the fledgling

Praja Rajyam, the political party floated by popular film star Chiranjeevi, ruled out the possibility of joining hands with it.

“We’re ready to form an alliance with all secular parties,’’ Mr Chiranjeevi told newspersons after his meeting with chief election commissioner N Gopalaswami here on Monday in connection with his party’s request for an election symbol.

“Praja Rajyam is a secular party, while the BJP is not, and there could not be any truck with it,’’ he said. He, at the same time, hastened to add that a final decision on the subject was yet to be taken.

The Praja Rajyam founder’s remarks are certain to come as a big blow to the BJP’s hopes of zeroing down on an alliance partner in the state in an attempt to seek a larger space for itself. Its dalliance with the TDP came to an abrupt end after the 2004 general election, which saw the Congress-led alliance coming out on top in the state.

While the BJP, which contested the Lok Sabha as well as the assembly election in the state in alliance with the TDP, drew a blank in the parliamentary election and had to rest content with only one seat in the assembly, the TDP too faced a rout.

Since then, the BJP has been forced to plough a lonely furrow in a state which sends as many as 42 MPs to the Lok Sabha. Its attempts to look for prospective political friends in the state have drawn a blank so far. While the TDP has joined hands with the Left, the TRS, which, like the BJP, too is fighting for a separate Telangana, has not evinced any interest in mending fences with the saffron outfit.

Veteran film actor and Praja Rajyam founder Chiranjeevi had raised hopes on this count by declaring initially that he did not rule out the possibility of a tie-up with the BJP. His remarks had raised hopes in the saffron camp that its attempts to find an alliance partner in Andhra Pradesh would end on a positive note.

With Mr Chiranjeevi doing an about-turn on the issue, rejecting the possibility of stitching a pre-poll alliance with the BJP, the latter is now faced with the dreadful prospect of being rendered absolutely friendless in Andhra Pradesh.
Finding suitable partners in Andhra Pradesh and neighbouring Tamil Nadu, which between them account for 81 Lok Sabha seats, is crucial in the BJP top brass’ scheme of things. The party has minimal presence in these two states. Hence, locating political friends becomes a necessity.

Chiranjeevi Accept To Pratyeka Telangana

46.3% Wish To See Chiru As Chief Minister of A.P

Some sites and News Chanels has conducted the poll as you all know and the majority of readers, about 46.3%, wished to see Chiranjeevi as Chief Minister after coming elections. While 36% polled for TDP only 17.7% are polled for Congress out of 12300 votes polled within the first 24 hours. Out of the polled votes 60 percent are from US while 40 percent are from India.

It is an accepted truth that people tend to bring in change. The craze that is following Chiranjeevi is also growing big day by day and his Praja Ankitha Yatra is really pumping in more confidence for his supporters. On the other hand Congress has been continuing its development and welfare activities without starting any sort of campaign so far.

This is the most important tussle that most of them are expecting to happen in the forthcoming elections. Apparently, Y S was a surprise winner during the 2004 elections as everyone thought that his fate was sealed and the stage was set for Chandrababu Naidu to continue his regime for another five years but the silent and sedate YS proved everyone wrong.

Even now, while there is a lot of hype and hoopla happening with the arrival of Megastar Chiranjeevi and the big response he has been getting as part of his yatra, there seems to be no special reaction from YS and he has been busy doing his job just like any other day at office.

Given his silent and strategic techniques, it now remains to be seen whether YS will emerge again as the winner given his political experience and the work he has done which the public can already see or will the tables turn towards Chiru who has been promising a corrupt free system and a dedicated party towards public service. Or things may go other way round and out of surprise, TDP may come into power again with its alliances!! Who can predict the possibilities in politics?! Just wait and see.And I wish U All The Best To MeGa sTar cHiRu

Chiranjeevi launches ‘Praja Rajyam’ Party

Chiranjeevi

TIRUPATI: Strangely, the biggest political launch in the state since N T Rama Rao’s in 1983 began on a quiet note. ( Watch )

With a DVD of Chiranjeevi’s film Stalin being screened on the big screen on the dais to keep the crowd in good humour, they hardly reacted when their ‘annaiya’ made his first appearance, typically bashing up some bad guys.

However, two hours later, about 7 lakh people roared to real life Chiranjeevi when he thundered about delivering social justice and unveiled his Praja Rajyam. Not surprisingly it sent shivers down the Congress and TDP camps and placed Chiranjeevi clearly as a serious chief ministerial candidate.

To Chiranjeevi’s credit, the prolonged build-up to his political initiation did live up to its expectation. After having kept everyone waiting and guessing about whether and when he would enter the political scene for the last several months, the simple press conference announcing his political intention followed by Tuesday’s meeting seem to herald the semblance of a mass social movement.

“This is a political tsunami, and chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and opposition TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu will be swept away by its current,” claimed T Rammohan from Guntur who said he quit the Congress to join Chiranjeevi.

For those who had dubbed Chiranjeevi as a mere film star, his speech was full of content. He spoke of how the government was selling away land (and thus mortgaging the future) for balancing the budget, how fertile cultivable land was being given away to SEZs, how the Naxalite problem arose from poverty and how he would not mind granting Telangana if the region could not be developed otherwise.

He also displayed a marked Left orientation and though his speech was shorn off great oratory, he used symbolism with great effect to demolish the policies of the present government.

But true to his please-all image, the megastar did not attack anyone by name. The potraits of Mahatma Gandhi, B R Ambedkar, Mother Teresa and Jyotiba Phule on the background of the huge stage gave the message clearly about where his sympathies lay.

Tuesday in this temple town dawned to a huge influx of people by the thousands making it to the meeting in buses, lorries, jeeps and by foot.

By 10 am, all roads leading to the city were packed with Chiru’s men, and by 3.30 pm, about three to four lakh people had converged at the meeting. Some wore masks of the actor, some carried flags and some others even carried small cutouts.

Although Tirupati has members of Chiranjeevi’s Kapu caste in sizable numbers, such a mammoth gathering could not have been made only by its members.

The actor seems to have inspired many outside his community, for it was a combination of several weaker sections, Dalits, Muslims and backward classes that could have led to this large crowd.

The Chiru camp was upbeat over the attendance, and are now insisting that their leader is clearly on the way to the chief ministerial gaddi.

The politician did not directly attack the Congress and the TDP, but by clearing declaring that the current set-up has only spawned social injustice, he has made it clear that they are his main targets.

Now that his party has a name, a flag and a song, how he takes the next step would be crucial for the extent of his success. This would include setting up of a party organisation.

If indeed the people are with him, as perhaps indicated by the numbers at Tuesday’s meeting, then the magnificent fireworks at the venue has a clear message for everyone: August 26 is a political and social milestone in the history of Andhra Pradesh.
